Movies today oftentimes paint college through one very strict lens - simply, fraternities, sororities, alcohol, and college students first taste of a ‘wild’ freedom away from their parents. I mean, yes, you no longer have a curfew or house rules, that does not mean that every day in college has to be like those we see in the movies. In saying this, I mean that there is not one strict route one can take in order to achieve that ‘college experience’ we have all been promised - instead, you have the freedom of forging your own path in creating that experience.
And Baltimore is the perfect place for this type of freedom.
Baltimore is home to so many different alcohol-free experiences that are inclusive to individuals of all ages and interests, but if you just moved here you may not know that - and that is where we come in.

This high intensity game gives teams one hour to solve an array of different puzzles and riddles in order to free themselves from the room they are locked in.
I went to Escape the Room with a few girls on my floor about two months into freshman year. Flash forward to senior year, and these girls are not some of my best friends!

No matter what day of the week, I think during college we could all use a little bit of a brain break. So why not treat yourself to a movie in Towson?
Cinemark in Towson is less than a twenty minute drive from campus and always offers so many different movie options and viewing times.
So why not go after class?

This North Charles Street gem allows visitors to walk freely around the Museum and take in all the amazing art and decor that surrounds them.
Yes, this is definitely a calmer weekend activity, but again, we could all use something like that every now and then.

Being in a fast-paced city, like Baltimore, it is often so easy to overlook the beauty that surrounds you - and I’ll be the first to admit that I have definitely taken some things for granted in my past four years.
So, when you find yourself in the mood for these types of experiences there are plenty of places you could go to watch the sunset and just relax with friends.
My friends and I love to take advantage of the unseasonably nice days here in Baltimore to have lunch or dinner outside - you’d be shocked how much it helps your mood.
