Hampdenfest
This is an annual one-day neighborhood arts festival which takes place in Hampden, Baltimore. The festival features great food, live music, art performances and friendly competitions of all sorts. Headlining the competitions are a number of cook-offs and Hampdenfest’s famous toilet races. All of this happening on one Saturday in September makes Hampdenfest a can’t miss event for any college student in the Baltimore area.
2. Pumpkin Picking
This is a classic fall activity no matter where you are in the country, but Baltimore in particular has plenty of options to fulfill your pumpkin-based needs. Rogers’ Farm Emoji Corn Maze & Fall Fun provides a great atmosphere for pumpkin picking and so much more. After visiting Roger Farm’s pumpkin patch, there’s still plenty to experience including an emoji-themed corn maze! If you’re looking for a fun fall day out, look no further.
3. Hampden's Christmas Lights
Known as Miracle on 34th Street - can be easily found during the Christmas season on one block of 34th street as they put up a Christmas display like no other. Starting at 720 West 34th Street, you’ll find inflatable decorations, massive candy canes up and down the road and more. These decorations are put up after Thanksgiving and stay up until the new year.
4. Cherry Blossom (DC)
Just down the road from Baltimore, you can find Washington DC. Not only that, but from late March to early April you can find beautifully blooming cherry blossoms that were gifted to the United States from Japan in March of 1912. The festival is meant to celebrate the gift of these Japanese cherry trees from the then Mayor of Tokyo City Yukio Ozaki, and makes for some pretty stunning views as well.
5. Apple Picking
It’s impossible to have a list talking about the best seasonal activities anywhere without mentioning apple picking in the fall at least once. Thankfully, Baltimore county has a place where all of your apple picking needs will be met. Weber’s Cider Mill Farm lies in one of the more rural regions of Baltimore County, making it close to home while still providing an authentic apple picking experience. There are plenty of apples to pick on your own at Weber’s, but the farm also offers many different baked and canned apple products for purchase, making it a perfect one-stop shop for anything apple related.
